Assistant / Associate Professor in Mental Health/ Counselling Ajman University’s Department of Psychology, within the College of Humanities and Sciences, is seeking a highly qualified Assistant / Associate Professor in Mental Health/ Counselling Psychology or related field in Psychology to join its faculty team. This position is ideal for candidates who demonstrate strong commitment to academic excellence, student mentorship, innovative teaching, and impactful research in mental health and counselling. Required Qualifications Ph.D. in Mental Health / Counselling Psychology or a relevant field is necessary. Bilingual (Arabic & English). Required to be at least a recognized authority in the subject area with achievements in research and scholarship, and an in-depth understanding of one's own specialism(s) to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field. Evidence of relevant research potential, including potential to publish in appropriate leading journals. Evidence of ability in teaching example able to use a range of delivery techniques to engage the interest and enthusiasm of students and inspire them to learn. Ability to initiate development in the curriculum and to take responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of teaching programs, developing the curriculum and appropriate assessment techniques. Understanding of equal opportunity issues as they may impact on areas of teaching. Engaged in continuous professional development. Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to colleagues and different kinds of students. Ability to perform to required deadlines and to initiate, plan, organize, and deliver programs of work. Duties & Responsibilities Candidates will be considered for the position based on the selection criteria below. The candidate should address these criteria in the application: Bilingual (Arabic & English). Highest earned degree from a prestigious institution. Has teaching experience in the area of specialization at the university for more than three years. Has experience and research activities, and a number of papers published in prestigious international journals. Has the ability to teach in face-to-face, online, and hybrid learning environments. Has the ability to work with the team in a collaborative environment. Has the ability to use information and communication technology for personal and professional purposes Has records of achievement, and CV refers to the degree of his/her appointment to the position advertised. Has some experience in supervising field students at the undergraduate level. Faculty members are expected to provide up-to-date reports involving teaching activities and student advising as assigned by the department Faculty members will be responsible for course development and participating in curriculum and program development Meet all instructional and advising responsibilities as specified in the university policies and procedures manual. Participate in scholarly and research activities that enhance their professional development and contribute to their discipline Serve as appropriate in the department, college, and university committees Provide professional services to the University and community.
