GENERAL SUMMARY

Reporting to the Dean of Nursing, faculty responsibilities include instructional preparation and teaching of nursing courses offered at the Associate Degree level in the classroom, clinical, and laboratory/simulation settings, student advising, curriculum development and evaluation, and assessment of student learning outcomes as assigned following the mission, core values, and purposes of the college. The Faculty member is responsible for teaching 24 credits per year.

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Minimum Qualifications for the Role:

  • A minimum of an earned Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of five years of full-time nursing experience or its equivalent within the last eight years
  • A current unrestricted RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts nursing license is required
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population

Preferred Qualifications for the Role:

  • An earned doctorate in nursing/education or current enrollment with progress towards a doctoral degree from an appropriately accredited institution
  • Two years of full-time teaching experience in a registered nursing program, with expertise sufficient to teach theoretical and clinical in the course specialty area
  • Certified Nurse Educator is highly desirable.
