Assistant/Associate Professor – Political Science – University of Jamestown Position Title: Assistant/Associate Professor - Political Science Location: Jamestown, North Dakota Employment Type: Full-time, 9-month Faculty position Application Deadline: Open until filled The Department of Political Science at the University of Jamestown invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor position in Political Science. We seek a dynamic scholar and educator committed to advancing research and teaching in a collaborative academic environment. About the University of Jamestown: Established in 1883, the University of Jamestown is a private, Christian liberal arts university with its roots based in Jamestown, North Dakota. Key Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Political Science, including introductory courses and specialized seminars in Advise and mentor undergraduate students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and community engagement. Contribute to the development of innovative curricula and interdisciplinary initiatives. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s or Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field by the time of appointment. Ph.D. preferred. ABDs likely to complete the degree within a year will also be considered Strong commitment to teaching, with the ability to engage diverse student populations. The ability to teach politics courses with a focus on justice, civil liberty, and public policy is desired. The ability to teach comparative politics courses with a geographic focus towards to Asia or Africa is a plus. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. A passion for teaching research and writing skills is desired as the teaching load for this position is 24 credits per year.
