POSITION SUMMARY

The Department of Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences at MSU Denver invites applications for a faculty position at the assistant or associate professor rank. This is a nine-month faculty contract beginning in Fall 2026, with the possibility of joining our team in Spring 2026 (semester not applied towards tenure and promotion) . Summer teaching opportunities may be available for additional compensation though not required .
MSU Denver has a robust mentoring program for tenure-track faculty. The candidate will be enrolled in the Roadrunner Faculty Academy during their first year. This is a year-long course designed to support new faculty navigate faculty life and thrive in teaching, scholarly activity and service.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Earned research doctorate in speech-language pathology or commensurate field
  • Certificate of clinical competence in speech-language pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • Holds or is eligible for SLP license from Colorado’s Department of Regulatory Agencies
  • Evidence of independent, university-level teaching experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Focus ar ea s i n v oice and/or neurogenic communication disorders
  • Instructor of record for one or more undergraduate and/or graduate course(s) in SLHS discipline
  • Evidence of high-impact teaching practices across different teaching modalities
  • Clinical experience supporting individuals with neurogenic disorders of communication and/or swallowing
  • Commitment to increasing access to education/services for under-represented and historically minoritized groups
  • Engagement in interprofessional collaboration
  • Scholarly agenda that align s with department al priorities for scholarship
  • Pursuit and/or receipt of grants

Responsibilities

This is a full-time tenure track/tenured faculty position (9-month) with a focus on teaching, advising, scholarship and service. Teaching includes multiple delivery modes such as in-person, hybrid and asynchronous courses; on-campus teaching is required each semester.  The teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester, with assignments to both the undergraduate and graduate programs. O pportunities for course releases may be available to support integration/collaboration with the Bookhardt Family Speech-Language Clinic.
Other duties include advising students in academic planning and career exploration; serving on departmental, university and professional committees; and pursuing scholarly activities related to the discipline.
