JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Athletic Director, Social Strategy and Content primary responsibility will include the day-to-day management, strategy & coordination of the primary social media channels associated with all CU Athletics team sports, as well as social creative content management, production & supervision to highlight CU Athletic stories on and off the field. This role is also responsible for assistance & guidance regarding ancillary CU Athletics channels (Buff Club, Academics, LCD, etc.). This position will manage a team of digital content/social managers and creative video producers, including:

  • Create engaging creative video content and storytelling in support of University of Colorado athletic events, coaches, staff and athletes Perform other creative duties as necessary including photography, graphics editing, website content management, etc.
  • Collaborate with Buffvision, graphic design, marketing, SID and other departments to create and maintain a social media calendar for short-term initiatives and long-term campaigns.
  • Supervise, train, coordinate & manage the entire creative content intern program, ensuring complete creative coverage at all home games, select practices, department events, and select away games and efficient dissemination of content to relevant partners.
  • Work closely with other departments for partner promotions across all platforms.
  • Monitor relevant social media conversations, including identification of hot topics and fan sentiment, communicating with administration as necessary.
  • This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department’s Mission Statement, Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Big 12 Conference and the NCAA.

SOCIAL MEDIA BRAND EDUCATION:

  • Assist Men’s Basketball coaches, student-athletes and staff with personal branding and social media standards, ensuring their content aligns with the department’s overall mission and branding.
  • Provide videos, photos, graphics and more for all relevant groups to share on social media in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating with Communications and Leadership and Career Development to educate student-athletes on personal branding, and department and sport policies related to social media, while keeping up-to-date with Name Image and Likeness best practices including following guidelines and regulations set by compliance and the NCAA.
