Assistant Athletic Trainer – University of Jamestown Position Title: Assistant Athletic Trainer Location: Jamestown, ND Employment Type: Full-time, 10-month staff position Application Deadline: Open until filled The University of Jamestown Athletics Department is seeking a certified athletic trainer to serve as Assistant Athletic Trainer. This position will provide comprehensive athletic training services to our student-athletes. Key Responsibilities: Provide prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for assigned teams Travel with assigned teams (including football road games and postseason play) Daily athletic training room coverage and operational support Maintain detailed medical records Collaborate closely with physicians and physical therapists, strength & conditioning staff, and coaching staff Assist with supervision of athletic training students from UJ’s growing athletic training program Coordinate pre-participation physicals, insurance claims, and NCAA eligibility requirements Implement concussion protocol, heat illness prevention, and other safety initiatives Manage inventory and budget for supplies and equipment Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training (Master’s degree strongly preferred) BOC certification in good standing North Dakota state licensure (or eligible immediately upon hire) Current Professional Rescuer CPR/AED certification Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and extended travel Preferred Qualifications: 1–3 years of experience at the collegiate level (NCAA preferred) Additional credentials (CSCS, PES, CES, Graston, Dry Needling, etc.) Experience mentoring athletic training students Compensation & Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience Full university benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement match, and tuition waiver for employee/spouse/dependents Application Process: Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, CV or resume, and contact information for three professional references.
