An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust as a trainee assistant audiologist based at our Southport and Ormskirk sites.
The role involves working independently with adult hearing aid users, maintaining and repairing hearing aids and assisting users with the maintenance and use of their hearing aids. The successful candidate will also perform otoscopy and take ear impressions.
There is a six month structured training programme accredited by the British Society of Audiology for this role and you will be required to attend training workshops in Manchester.

Fault finding, repair and replacement of faulty hearing aids.
Re-tubing and modification of ear moulds.
Referring patients to audiologists/healthcare professionals as required.
Issuing hearing aid consumables where needed.
Identifying patients who would benefit from hearing reassessment.
Preparing and maintaining treatment areas and equipment in accordance with Trust and Departmental guidelines.
Ensuring areas are clean and tidy at all times, single use items are disposed of correctly and equipment is decontaminated according to Trust and departmental guidelines.
Accurately record clinical data on a dedicated patient management system
