Description We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Baker to support our baking team in producing high-quality baked goods. The ideal candidate has a passion for baking, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment Key Responsibilities Production & Baking Assist the head baker in preparing doughs, batters, fillings, and frostings according to established recipes Mix, shape, proof, and bake breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods Operate and maintain baking equipment including ovens, mixers, and proofers Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent quality Food Safety & Sanitation Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation Follow all food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures Ensure proper labeling, dating, and storage of ingredients and finished products Inventory & Operations Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing deliveries Monitor stock levels and communicate supply needs Minimize waste through proper portioning and use of ingredients Team Support Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals Follow instructions from the baker and adapt to changing priorities Support during high-volume periods such as holidays and special events Requirements Qualifications Required Prior experience in a bakery, kitchen, or food service setting preferred Basic knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs Strong attention to detail and time management skills Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings, weekends, or holidays as needed Preferred Culinary or baking/pastry arts certificate or degree Experience with artisan breads, pastries, or cake decorating Food Handler's Certification (or willingness to obtain)
