Position Overview: The Assistant Benefits Consultant is a member of our health and welfare team who collaborates with our lead consultants and analyst team in the preparation of a variety of services provided to our clients. This position will assist in the review of our standard reporting, conducting special benefit studies, compliance projects, governmental filings, analyzing plan design, data analysis of clients’ financial health and vendor RFP’s. In addition, this position will maintain client relationships and serves as and/or supports the lead point of contact for an assigned portfolio of clients. This is an in-person position. Hybrid opportunities after 6-months of employment. Successful candidates generally have background in Benefit Consulting, Benefit Administration, Benefit Reporting & compliance, Multi-employer, MEWA, Project Management, Data Analysis, Advanced Report Building. Major Responsibilities: Guide and directs the activities of the analyst staff on related projects. Supervise the preparation and/or review of reports and benefit design studies. Prepare requests for proposals (RFP's) for various plan vendors or services and provide financial review support and analysis of such proposal. Assist with preparing and reviewing legal documents related to benefit plans. Professionally communicate with clients. Assist client and fund professionals with questions and problems. Assist with electronic files related to assigned clients to assure they are complete, accurate, current, and well organized. Utilize project management spreadsheets and software programs to ensure deadlines are met. Proficient with UAS templates and job-related software. Offer insight into current procedures to improve company operations. Maintain professional knowledge in related actuarial and multiemployer fields through reading, research, and study. Assist in training and mentoring fellow employees. Attend weekly team meetings and remain up to date on changes and procedures Maintain client relationships, travels to client location as needed, presents reports at client meetings, and supports a lead point of contact to UAS client Perform other duties as assigned by management. Requirements Education and Experience Requirements: Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relatable business field preferred. Experience: Strong mathematical background. 5-6 years work history within a benefits, consulting, mathematics, legal, accounting, or data analysis field. Computer Skills: Microsoft Office. Specific Requirements: Excel proficiency is required. Ability to use job-specific software is required. GBA or CEBS certification preferred. Physical Requirements: 1. Typically sitting at a desk or table for long periods. 2. Intermittently bending, standing, and stooping. 3. Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25 lbs.
