SUMMARY

Under general supervision and in compliance with Credit Union policies and procedures, responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the Danbury branch office, promoting the Credit Union in the Danbury region as well as assisting, when necessary, in the operations of the Middlebury branch office. Provides supervision of branch personnel to ensure the high standards of member satisfaction are met. Responds to members’ needs in a proactive manner, assisting members with account transactions, processing loan requests, resolving problems/questions with accounts and providing information about all Credit Union products and services.

EDUCATION

  1. High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. Working knowledge of financial institution consumer compliance a plus.

EXPERIENCE

  1. Minimum two years of sales or financial institution branch experience.
  2. Minimum 3 – 5 years in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Branch Operations -
    a. Ensure the branch is open and closed according to the established schedule each day.
    b. Oversee the security procedures of the branch personnel and physical assets.
    c. Ensure the branch has proper staffing to guarantee timely, accurate, and courteous service to the membership.
    d. Ensure the branch is in balance each night.
    e. Provides assistance to employees with operating problems, exceptions, and adjustments.
    f. Maintain thorough understanding of all Credit Union policies and procedures.
    g. Ensure that all displayed marketing pieces reflect accurate and current information.
    h. Provide staff training and team building to assure staff works together effectively.
    i. Motivate and lead staff emphasizing quality member service at all times.
    j. Assist in preparation of subordinate staff annual reviews.
    k. Assist in developing and tracking loan and share incentives consistent with strategic and budget goals.
    l. Provide information on Credit Union services and policy, such as: eligibility for membership, types of accounts, location, office hours, current dividend rates, etc. to members and prospective members.
    m. Provides members with account status, such as: balances and loan payoff amounts.
    n. Process member deposit/withdrawal requests.
    o. Verify and prepare close of business check and cash deposits.
    p. Assure cash deposits are delivered to correspondent financial institution and notify accounting of each deposit. Assist members with account discrepancies and problems.
    q. Answer member statement questions and make corrections and/or process refunds.
    r. Mail checks and receipts to members as indicated by current policies and procedures.
    s. Decision the acceptance of checks verifying endorsements and negotiability.
    t. Process and post daily loan payments and share deposits from members, mail, and night depository.
    u. Verify and post deposits from ATM ensuring accuracy. Assist in the daily balancing of the ATM.
    v. Process member check orders, transmit check orders to vendor.
  2. Lending Operations –
    a. Initiate lending services for in branch applicants.
    b. Interview loan applicants, assess credit needs and gather appropriate underwriting data.
    c. Ensure full collection and preparation of needed loan documentation.
    d. Within constraints of Credit Union policy and procedure, decision loan and arrange for closing.
  3. Business Development –
    a. Assist Member Services and Marketing in the Credit Union’s ongoing effort to cultivate membership in SEG schools.
  4. General –
    a. Promote cross-selling initiatives, seeking opportunities that are beneficial to the member and allow the Credit Union to achieve its growth objectives.
    b. Maintain strict adherence to Credit Union policy and procedures as well as consumer compliance law and regulations to include but not be limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Act and Office of Foreign Asset Control regulations, Fair Lending and Fair Housing regulations and security, and robbery procedures.
  5. Other – Perform other duties as assigned.
