JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Brewer / Cellar Person to join our brewing team. The role involves supporting daily cellar and brewing operations, including tank maintenance, beer transfers, kegging, and assisting in packaging. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety focused, and eager to contribute to the craft beer-making process.

EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with brewing processes, craft beer productions, and packaging is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 kgs
  • Comfortable with repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong multitasking ability and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Team-oriented with a proven ability to collaborate effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized cellar areas (tidy hoses, assist with grain weighing, preparation, and dig outs).
  • Perform routine sanitation: clean surfaces, remove mould, rinse, clean, sanitize, purge, and pressurize stainless tanks.
  • Assist with operation, setup, and cleaning of pasteurizer and Scholle bag-in-box equipment.
  • Support keg cleaning and filling.
  • Contribute to packaging operations: preparing boxes, catching bags, building skids, and preparing yeast sachets with instructions.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including WHMIS and PPE requirements.
  • Consistently wear required protective gear (headgear, gloves, Safety glasses, earplugs, steel-toe-shoes, etc.).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Brewer or Senior Brewer.
  • Assist in the operation of pasteurizer and Scholle bag in box equipment.
  • Set up and clean pasteurizer and Scholle filler area.
  • Assist with keg cleaning and filling.
  • Work in any of the three positions of preparing boxes, catching bags, building skids and preparation of yeast sachets and instruction sheets.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations including WHMIS and PPE requirements.
  • Ensure proper headgear, earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, and appropriate clothing and safety steel toe shoes are worn when required.
  • Other duties and tasks assigned by Head or Assistant Brewer. During slower production periods, duties may be assigned within the winery and distillery departments.
