Position Summary: The Assistant Building and Project Manager supports the Project Manager in overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and improvement of building facilities. This role includes significant project management responsibilities, particularly in coordinating construction, renovation, and preventative maintenance initiatives. The ideal candidate combines technical knowledge with strong organizational and communication skills to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.  Supervisory Responsibilities: * Assists the Building Manager with the selection recommendations, supervision, training, development, evaluation, and accountability of assigned facility staff.  * Assists with the management, coordinates, and oversight of all aspects of support services to include but not limited to janitorial, snow removal, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and grounds maintenance. * Responsible for the timely submission of time and attendance for assigned staff. * Assists the Building Manager and Project Manager with oversight of the daily workflow of the assigned facility/building. * Performs other related duties as assigned.  Duties/Responsibilities: Building Operations and Maintenance  * Assist in managing routine and emergency building maintenance activities (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural). * Monitor service contracts and vendor performance to ensure compliance with service level agreements. * Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards. * Oversees the daily workflow of the assigned facility/building. * Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations for subordinate staff.   * Responsible for executing the FBCG progressive discipline policy for subordinate staff as assigned by the Building Manager * Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and proper execution of all ministry and event-related support requests.  * Set and adjust short and long-term priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work.   * Responsibility for servicing, repairing, and performing daily preventive maintenance on humidification systems, sewer ejectors, sump pumps, fire extinguishers, elevators, air-conditioning packaged units, air compressors, air handlers, emergency generators, roof-gutter drains, storm drains, bioretention and gravel wetlands, permeable pavers, and manual and automatic valves (main lines or critical).   Project Management  * Plan, coordinate, and oversee construction and renovation projects from initiation to completion. * Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource plans in collaboration with stakeholders. * Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project alignment and compliance. * Track progress, manage risks, and resolve issues to keep projects on schedule and within budget. * Schedules inspections and service calls; maintains inventory of building equipment; develops criteria for work procedures and provides technical expertise for preparation of a statement of work when there is a need.  * Responsible for the Security of the assigned facility 24/7. * Serves as the Building Manager in his/her absence. * Performs other related duties as assigned.  Required Skills/Abilities: * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Strong supervisory and leadership skills. * Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. * Ability to prepare reports, budgets, and documentation related to building operations and capital projects. * Support procurement processes for materials, equipment, and contractor services. * Familiarity with building systems, codes, and safety regulations. * Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. * Must be able to submit to authorities as defined by the Pastor.  * Must possess a gracious, Christ-like demeanor in demanding situations.  * Must have an understanding and appreciation for the ministry and the mission of FBCG. * Ability to communicate with others and always maintain a Christ-like spirit.  * Completion of College or Technical School HVAC Certificates, preferred.  * Intermediate Management Training or Engineering Technical Training preferred.  * Ability to prepare progress and other reports for review by Senior and Executive level staff  * Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Planner software, CMMS software, and other software for space planning and utilization.  * Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet the requirements of the church’s insurance to be able to operate an FBCG vehicle.  Education and Experience: * Must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent (GED).  College degree preferred.  * Must have a minimum of 4-6 years of building services/facilities management experience.  * Must have experience working with, supervising, and leading a team; be extremely flexible and responsive.  * Commercial building experience is strongly desired.  * BAS/DDC experience preferred. * Building Operations and Maintenance Training Certificates of Completion, desired.  Physical Requirements: * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. * This position is a physically strenuous and demanding job.
