Job Introduction
We’re looking for an exceptional Assistant Business Accountant to help us make a difference to our planet.
As our Assistant Business Accountant, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.
Our opportunity is full time, 37 hours per week, but we would also consider applicants wishing to work a minimum of 33 hours per week and we will also try our best to consider those intending to work a job share. Our people are at the heart of what we do and we’ll do our best to agree a working pattern that works for everyone.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Good level of formal accounting knowledge and relevant work experience - evidenced as a minimum of actively studying for a CCAB / equivalent qualification, or already AAT qualified; demonstrating that you Keep Evolving your own development.
  • Experience of communicating effectively on financial issues with both financial and non-financial staff, you’re Better Together, proactively sharing your knowledge and experience with others.
  • Experience of month-end, forecast and budget processes, you’re an Expert by Nature.
  • Ability to analyse financial data and identify issues and risks.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while balancing requirements from a variety of customers, you’re a Force for Good.
Responsibilities
  • Provide accounting support to managers and Finance Business Partners to ensure finances are controlled and information is available to allow for effective financial management.
  • Undertake all month end activities, including compiling and posting journals.
  • Provide analytical review of actual performance against forecast / budget and identify issues and risks to FBPs.
  • Compile and deliver robust and relevant financial information, training, and advice.
  • Understand, review and challenge financial forecasts.
  • Provide cover for other portfolios as required.
