Description Job Title Code: ABOM FLSA: Nonexempt Position Purpose The purpose of this position is to assist the BOM in planning, developing, coordinating, implementing and maintaining systems to manage the facility business function in a financially sound manner, in compliance with federal, state and local requirements. Essential Job Functions – Principal Accountabilities Implements and maintains systems to collect, document accurate, complete admission data. Implements and maintains systems to assure prompt retrieval of resident information. Implements and maintains systems to assure confidentiality of resident information. Implements a monitoring system to assure compliance with federal, state and local requirements. Implements systems to operate the facility in a financially sound manner. Maintains an accurate resident census. Verifies resident accounts to verify charges and transmit accurate statements in a timely manner. Manages accounts receivable to maximize collections. Initiates collection actions on delinquent accounts. Administers Resident Trust Accounts (resident petty cash) Manage relationships with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance carriers. Ensure proper information is submitted so claims will be approved. Manages relationships with residents and/or family members to ensure understanding of billing and responsibilities for payments to facility. Other Job Functions Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles and processes. Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. Planning and organizing skills are necessary. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to exercise judgement. Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must have patience, tact, and willingness to deal with difficult people. Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of residents, tenants, and/or guests. Sufficient ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously. Must display positive attitude. Must demonstrate independence, initiative, self-discipline, conscientiousness, and dependability. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
