Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF ROLE

Under the supervision of Senior Business Partner Marketing Communications, you will be responsible for the delivery of effective and impactful marketing communications which support the work and raise the profile of departments and teams across the organisation and major Service projects.
You will adopt a Business Partnering approach, building relationships and rapport, working in collaboration with a range of internal and external audience to design and develop targeted communications which supports our organisational vision and is aligned to our Service values.
You may also be considered for the other vacancy with the Corporate Communication Team, should your skills and experience align closer to that criteria.

SOME OF THE THINGS YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Work with teams across the Service including but not limited to, the Diversity, Inclusion, Cohesion and Equality (DICE) team and HR; using a Business Partnering approach to lead on the day-to-day implementation of marketing communications.
  • Develop and deliver integrated marketing communication plans in partnership with teams across the organisation; providing advocacy services, a range of communications solutions and appropriately designed and branded resources.
  • Lead on the day-to-day planning and delivery of communications activity directly linked to major Service projects including, but not limited to, National Operational Guidance (NOG), the Transformation Team, Emergency Services Network (ESN) and Recruitment.
  • Ensure that all marketing communication literature and materials produced are accessible to a wide variety of audiences and appropriately branded.
  • Support the Senior Business Partner Marketing Communications in the day-to-day delivery of the Service’s culture change plan, including liaising and engaging with the Culture Change Advocates.
  • Responsible for timely, effective and targeted online and digital communications across the website, intranet and social media platforms as part of developing fully integrated marketing communication plans.
  • Be part of a rota providing out-of-hours media cover, which includes the duties of updating social media, liaising with the press in relation to incidents, political or sensitive information, attending incidents in line with mobilising procedures and acting as an official spokesperson for AF&RS.
  • Provide reactive crisis communications support in response to a significant organisational issue or major incident, including attending the incident, arranging media interviews, providing media advice to senior managers, issuing appropriate ‘warn and inform’ messages and liaising with multi-agency partners where required.Carry out any additional responsibilities as reasonable and appropriate, as agreed with line manager.
