Job Description Role: Assistant Buyer Location: Warrington, Spalding or London, Hybrid (1-or-2 days per week in office) Employment Type: Permanent We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Buyer to join our team and support our goal of sourcing the finest ingredients, balancing quality and cost-effectiveness. In this role, you’ll develop a deep understanding of our products, customers, and supply chain while managing procurement for select categories and contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality meals. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Lead Category / Category Buyers with the implementation of strategic plans and buying initiatives Source & analyse internal and external information to support negotiations and new product development Manage your own categories, suppliers and tenders Use your analytical skills to model and analyse data to determine the impact on Gousto, including cost reviews Support the team and other functions through the tender process by working cross-functionally to ensure the correct legal documentation is in place and Food Technical has the necessary information to approve products where needed Develop supplier improvement plans in line with SLA Working with the buyers to update supplier forecasts and analyse contract uptake. Communicating any issues to the relevant team Ensure suppliers are aware of Gousto demand forecast and any specific activities Be able to confidently communicate with the supplier and challenge in a calm & considered manner within the required time frame using the appropriate communication methods WHO YOU ARE Experience working in a commercial environment within procurement/planning/sales Good commercial acumen Good numeracy and data analysis skills.
