Job Description SSENSE is seeking an Assistant Buyer, Womenswear to join their Buying team! This is a pivotal role that supports the Principal Buyer team in managing a defined brand portfolio. This individual ensures the accurate and timely execution of daily buying operations, including order management, market analysis, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. They play a key role in implementing the Womenswear department's strategy to achieve sales, profitability, and market share objectives. The ideal candidate possesses a keen eye for trends, excels in a data-driven environment, and actively contributes to the portfolio's growth. What You Will Do: Support Buying Operations: Ensure the execution of daily and in-season operations (reorders, returns, etc.) for an assigned brand portfolio. This includes conducting competitive research, price analysis, and collaborating with internal teams (logistics, marketing) to ensure optimal performance, all to meet pre-established targets for budgets, margins, and sell-through rates. Manage Purchase Order (PO) Creation and Maintenance: Ensure timely and standard-compliant entry of purchase orders, review order confirmations, and promptly resolve any discrepancies. Work closely with Buying Coordinators to oversee and prioritize administrative tasks related to orders. Develop Vendor Relations: Establish strong, long-term relationships with suppliers. Act as a brand ambassador to secure preferential terms (early deliveries, exclusives, margin agreements) and actively participate in the selection process to align the offering with the company's strategy. Produce Reports and Analysis: Generate accurate weekly sales data reports (inter and cross-departmental) and vendor reports. Contribute to Assortment Strategy and Growth: Align with the planning team and the Manager, Women's Wear Buying, to execute seasonal budget objectives. Participate in product selection and buying strategy to create a cohesive message and identify opportune areas for growth within the assigned portfolio. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. A minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a buying role, preferably in a multi-brand ready-to-wear environment. Excellent proficiency in using Microsoft Excel. Developed skills in training and knowledge sharing. Strong written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
