CIRCLE HOUSE COFFEE - ASSISTANT MANAGER POSITION

Overview: Circle House Coffee is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting our team, coaching and training baristas, overseeing daily operations, and assisting the management team with back-of-house and administrative tasks. If you are passionate about coffee, customer service, and leadership, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or assistant manager role (preferably in a food service or coffee environment).
  • Certifications:
  • Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain within the first week of hire).
  • FL Food Manager Certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
  • Skills:
  • Knowledge of front-of-house operations, including beverage and food preparation, POS systems, and customer service.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and be available outside of scheduled shifts when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Team Support & Coaching:
  • Work closely with Shift Supervisors and Baristas to provide support and guidance.
  • Assign tasks to team members and provide follow-up feedback.
  • Serve as a Shift Supervisor when needed.
  • Ensure the team adheres to all beverage, food preparation, customer service, and safety standards.
  • Operations & Administration:
  • Assist Managers with administrative tasks such as inventory management, ordering supplies, and scheduling.
  • Perform shift planning and ensure shifts are properly staffed.
  • Monitor café operations to alleviate service bottlenecks and ensure high-quality service.
  • Handle cash tills, manage change funds, and assist with shift changes.
  • Conduct regular café walk-throughs to ensure cleanliness, food safety, and operational standards are met.
  • Customer Service & Problem Resolution:
  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure overall customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate operational changes and new policies to the team.
  • Training & Development:
  • Provide ongoing training and coaching to staff, including new hire onboarding.
  • Implement new procedures and ensure team members are fully trained on them.
  • Lead batch prep schedules, quantities, and ensure quality standards for beverages and food.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Perform weekly inventory counts and submit orders to maintain stock levels.
  • Place and receive orders, checking in deliveries throughout the week.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory needs and ordering supplies as necessary.
  • Health & Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, cleanliness, and operational guidelines.
  • Complete monthly food safety and café standards audits.
