THE ROLE

As an Assistant Calibration Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join a specialist team responsible for testing, repairing, and calibrating radiological survey instruments and monitoring systems—ensuring operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and technical excellence within the Calibration Group.

Day-to-day, you’ll test, repair, and calibrate radiological survey instruments and monitoring systems, ensuring timely completion and full compliance with industry standards.

  • Generate calibration certificates and maintain accurate, traceable records
  • Follow UKAS-accredited protocols, including measurements, equipment checks, and Excel-based data management
  • Ensure facility compliance with BS EN ISO 17025 and BS EN 10012 standards
  • Conduct radiological tasks with sealed sources under IRR17 and RPS supervision
  • Manage administration processes for receiving, tracking, and dispatching radiological equipment securely and on time

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
