Position Location 12001 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA 20191  This is an on-site position at Reston Headquarters and throughout Reston Association. Your seasonal position may require travel to multiple Reston Association sites based on the duties required.  Position Overview At Reston Association (RA), our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are actively seeking an Assistant Camp Director to join our team! The primary function of this position is to support the Camp Director in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our summer camp programs. This role plays a vital part in ensuring program quality, staff supervision, and a safe, engaging environment for campers. The Assistant Camp Director will work under the leadership of the Camp Director and will assist in managing camp staff, coordinating daily schedules, maintaining compliance with state licensing guidelines, and addressing parent concerns. This position also contributes to pre-camp planning, budget monitoring, and staff training, while fostering a positive and inclusive camp culture. This position offers 40 hours per week, from June – August, with occasional evening and weekend shifts required to support department operations and special events. These hours depend on operational needs and are subject to change.   What You’ll Bring * 21 years of age or older. * Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in a college program (Education, Child Development preferred). * Prior camp or youth program leadership experience. * Supervisory experience with seasonal staff (5–20 employees). * Strong organizational and communication skills. * Energetic, adaptable and love being outdoors. * Experience in recreational programming including nature, sports, arts, aquatics, and technology. * Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and ADP). * Current CPR and First Aid Certification; Medication Administration Training preferred. * Ability to meet all county/state licensing requirements including background checks and in-person training. * Can provide documented proof of a negative TB skin test. * Commitment to RA’s mission and working with a diverse population. * Confident leader with the ability to guide and inspire a team.   * Excellent at problem-solving, adapting plans and resolving challenges effectively.   * Team-building mindset to foster a collaborative and inclusive camp culture. * Positive role model, you set the tone for a respectful and engaging environment. * Physically able to actively engage with children, lift up to 40 pounds, and maintain visual awareness while standing or sitting for extended periods.
