POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Carpenter to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about woodworking and construction, eager to learn, and committed to delivering hight-quality work. The ideal candidate will be detailed-oriented, efcient, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
Learning and Skill Development :
- Observe and learn carpentry techniques, including cutting, shaping, measuring, and installation.
- Gain hands-on experience in ooring and tile installation methods.
- Seek opportunities to practice and improve carpentry and related skills under supervision.

Responsibilities:
Carpentry Support:
- Assist the lead carpenter in constructing and installing structures.
- Assist with the assembly of the staircases, shelving and other custom millwork.
- Sand, plane, or nish wood surfaces to meet project requirements.
- Assemble components using nails, screws, adhesives, or other fasteners.
- Assist in cutting, shaping, and assembling materials such as wood, drywall, and other materials.
- Support in preparing surfaces for ooring installation, including levelling and cleaning.
- Help measure, cut and install various types of ooring, including engineered wood, vinyl plank, tile.
- Mix and apply adhesives, grout, and nishes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the carpentry team and project goals.
Project Preparation Cleanup:
- Assist in reviewing project plans, blueprints, and specications to understand job requirements.
- Gather and prepare tools, equipment, and materials needed for daily tasks.
- Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from the job site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by removing debris and arranging tools.
- Set up scaffolding, ladders, or other temporary structures under supervision.
Material Handling:
- Load, unload, and transport materials to and from the worksite.
- Ensure protection of material from damages.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all workplace safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure all tools are in good working order and safe to operate.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, regulations, and best practices to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and report any safety hazards.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with Carpenters and Project Lead and other team members to execute tasks efficiently and with precision.
- Communicate effectively to understand instructions and provide progress updates.
- Assist in problem-solving and troubleshooting issues that arise during projects.
- Take feedback constructively and implement it to improve performance.
- Collaborate effectively in a positive construction fashion while working in the best interest of the project as a whole with other team members, including other tradespeople and subcontractors.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude while working.
- Respect and respond to direction given by your supervisor.
Learning and Skill Development :

- Ensure high standards of workmanship and efciency to ensure that services meet or exceed expectations.
Administrative Duties:
- Check off completed tasks assigned to you in CoConstruct.
- Upload Job Log & Photos in CoConstruct of work progress Qualications:
- Alignment with our company values, including teamwork, organization and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills: proficiency in measurements, fractions and calculations needed for carpentry work.
- Basic understanding of carpentry principles and tools.
- Capability to work with effectively and efficiently.
- Vocational training or coursework in carpentry, construction, or related eld (a plus) * Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to details.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials as required.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot on-site challenges.
- Knowledge of workplace safety.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
