Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team and support the Buyer/Category Manager for our Garden Décor category. The role covers both the buying and trading elements of the category.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Buyer to look after the category through peak season. They will be responsible for managing key supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of current and new orders, as well as reviewing trading performance to action and drive sales. They will also be given some smaller sub-categories as areas of responsibility under the guidance of the buyer.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a buying office or similar area.
  • Able to work under pressure in a highly seasonal business.
  • Strong communicator who must be able to communicate well both internally and externally
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and independently, while recognizing when to seek guidance or assistance to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Highly proficient in Excel / Google Sheets.

DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience within an ecommerce environment.
  • Experience of managing categories with a focus on sales and margins.
  • Any category specific product knowledge.
  • Understanding of retail best practice (pricing rules, etc.)
    This role will require some commuting to Windlesham (GU20)

    Pay: Up to £35,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods to maintain stock availability throughout the season.
  • Help to deliver a successful launch of new product.
  • Provide commentary on sales and margin performance before agreeing trading actions with line managers and putting them into effect.
  • Monitor market activity and gather market intelligence to inform decisions on pricing, delivery, value proposition and product range.
  • Work closely with Marketing & Brand teams to drive promotions and assist with the organisation of product photoshoots.
  • Maintain already strong supplier relationships.
  • Be a representative of the organisation to a variety of external and internal stakeholders.
  • Support internally with customer service to aid them with more complex product questions.
  • Work closely with other departments to develop short- and long-term category specific plans.
