Black & Grey HR is hiring for a well-established retail group in Saudi Arabia for their supermarket division. Our client is seeking a Saudi National Assistant Category Manager to support end-to-end category operations, assist the Category Manager in strategic planning, and independently handle key tasks to ensure category growth and performance. Key Responsibilities - Support in analyzing industry, pricing, and consumer trends to guide category decisions. - Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and suppliers. - Participate in sourcing new suppliers and evaluating their fit with category strategy. - Contribute to preparing annual budgets, sales forecasts, and margin targets. - Assist in executing business plans and monitoring category KPIs. - Manage pricing updates, SKU performance reviews, and margin optimization tasks. - Ensure product availability, timely replenishment, and assortment accuracy. - Coordinate with buyers and merchandisers to enhance product range and shelf visibility. - Track competitor activities, market pricing, and promotional trends. - Handle reports, data analysis, and documentation required for category performance reviews. - Independently manage assigned sub-categories or product groups as delegated by the Category Manager. - Support vendor negotiations and follow up on agreements, timelines, and service levels. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Buyer or Category Manager in FMCG. - Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. - Strong organizational and analytical skills. - Excellent financial acumen and decision-making ability. - Effective communicator and negotiator. - Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). - Detail-oriented with excellent time management. - Ability to manage complexity and drive results collaboratively.
