Description Apple Canyon Lake Property Owners Association ___________________________________________________________________ Assistant Chef REPORTS TO: Food & Beverage Manager, Bar Supervisor CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt POSITION SUMMARY: The mission of the Apple Canyon Lake Property Owners Association is to bring a superior level of service to the local community, ensuring that members and guests have a exceptional lake living experience that will not only encourage return visits, but generate excitement and, ultimately, increase pride in property ownership and property values. The Food & Beverage Team is the front line to deliver this experience, whether its through the Pro Shop, the Marina, or the Cove Dining. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation: Assist with chopping, dicing, saucing, and cooking base ingredients per standardized recipes. Kitchen Leadership: Supervise, train, and manage junior kitchen staff and line cooks. Run the kitchen line or act as head chef in the executive chef's absence. Inventory Management: Monitor raw ingredients, receive deliveries, and stock rotation utilizing the First In First Out (FIFO) method. Quality & Safety Control: Ensure all meals meet the restaurant's quality standards. Regularly inspect stations to maintain strict OSHA and local health department sanitation codes. Essential Qualifications & Skills Experience: Typically requires 2–4 years of proven hands-on culinary or commercial cooking experience. Certifications: May require or prefer a ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification. Physical Stamina: The ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and thrive in a hot, fast-paced, and high-stress environment Education: · High school or GED Working Conditions: · The majority of the work will be performed, standing, or walking. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as dangerous equipment or chemicals.
