Position: Part-Time Café Assistant Chef
Hours: Flexible shifts including weekends approx 10 -20 per week.
Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and reliable Assistant Chef to join our friendly café kitchen team. You will support the cafe supervisor in preparing and serving a high-quality menu including breakfast items, light lunches, baked goods, and seasonal specials. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining excellent food hygiene and presentation.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or commercial kitchen is preferred
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2) is an advantage (can be provided)
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Good time management and ability to multitask under pressure
A passion for food and customer service
Flexibility to work different shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to £13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week

Prepare fresh sandwiches, salads, soups, and hot meals according to menu specifications
Bake or help with cakes, pastries, and traybakes as required
Ensure kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained at all times
Monitor stock levels and report shortages or reorder needs
Handle food safely and in line with HACCP procedures
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
Support with cleaning duties, including dishwashing and sanitising work surfaces
