Chef Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Chef to join our team. You will be working within a small kitchen team responsible for the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Duties:
- Be an expert in food preparation and with great culinary skills
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to the menu specifications
- Monitor food production to ensure compliance with food safety standards
- Develop new recipes and menu items to meet customer preferences
- Help with training kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety procedures
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Collaborate with management to create budgets and plan menus
- Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and repairs
Skills:
- Proficiency in kitchen operations and culinary techniques
- Excellent knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity in developing new dishes and menus
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Assistant Chef or similar role
- Degree in Culinary Arts or relevant field is a plus
- Certification in food safety is preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
