Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Assistant Chef Steward to join our culinary team in the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, supporting our chefs, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Assist in maintaining a clean, hygienic, and organised kitchen environment Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including dishwashers and cleaning tools Support chefs by washing, peeling, and preparing ingredients as directed Manage kitchen inventory and stock levels, reporting shortages to senior staff Ensure proper storage and labelling of food items and kitchen supplies Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain an efficient workflow during service Adhere to and promote food safety and hygiene standards Assist in the cleaning and sanitisation of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment Support the culinary team in basic food preparation tasks as needed Contribute to a positive and collaborative kitchen atmosphere Qualifications Secondary school diploma or equivalent 1-2 years of experience in a similar role within a professional kitchen or hospitality setting Proficiency in operating kitchen equipment and following cleaning procedures Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices Basic culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations Excellent time management and organisational abilities Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of Vietnamese is advantageous Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when required Food safety certification is preferred Familiarity with Vietnamese cuisine is a plus Additional Information What awaits you...
