Job Description Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing daily operations, ensuring effective maintenance and repair of all hotel assets. Manage the Engineering & Maintenance team to uphold safety, functionality, and guest satisfaction across the property. Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities. Drive performance and efficiency within the Engineering team through coaching and motivation. Champion the hotel's fire safety program, ensuring readiness of all safety equipment and compliance with local regulations. Act as the department’s Training Champion, coordinating regular technical and safety training sessions. Enforce strict adherence to safe work practices and BizSAFE Level 3 standards for staff and external contractors. Propose and implement energy and resource conservation initiatives to support the hotel’s sustainability goals. Oversee troubleshooting and maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and building systems. Ensure compliance with all relevant fire safety, building, and environmental codes. Liaise with external vendors, service providers, consultants, architects, and regulatory bodies as needed. Qualifications At least 5 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably within hotels, building facilities, or construction maintenance. Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering or related discipline. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Proven leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Collaborative team player with a hands-on, proactive approach to operations.
