MINIMUM POSITION KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience at that duty position.
  • Must have the following certifications:
  • Fire Officer III
  • Fire Inspector II
  • Fire Instructor II
  • Hazardous Materials Incident Commander
  • Airport Fire Fighter
  • Must possess a National Registry Emergency Medical Responder (NREMR)
  • Must possess a National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) BASIC level or above
  • Training must be accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or National Professional Qualification System (NPQS). IFSAC or NPQS seals on the training certificates provide evidence of IFSAC or NPQS accreditation or foreign nation equivalent.
  • Must be physically fit, present a neat appearance, and maintain safety-related grooming standards.
  • Must be medically cleared to wear a SCBA mask PRIOR to arrival at AAAF.
  • Shall have and maintain a current CPR card issued by either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and write English is required.
  • Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to work and lead as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Possess a valid state issued driver’s license and passport.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
  • Prior overseas government contracting experience preferred.
Responsibilities

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Establish a certification and proficiency training program to ensure all Fire/EMS responders are certified by the DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification program IAW DoDM 6055.06, AFI 32-2001, Air Force F&ES EMS Playbook, and/or a certification program approved by the COR. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF).

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comply with Air Force Civil Engineer Center’s Air Force Fire and Emergency Services Training Program (AF EMSTP), and AFI 32-2001 for all recurring certification and training requirements.
  • Record all training on AF Form 1085 in FES-IMS.
  • Ensure that all training is scheduled, tracked, and performed IAW the Air Force Fire and Emergency Services Training Program (FESTP) and documented in FES-IMS.
  • Training must be accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or National Professional Qualification System (NPQS).
  • Ensure 100% of personnel staffed meet Minimum Training Requirements for FES duty positions as indicated in the contract for the duration of this task order.
