Invites applications for the Full Time Position (39 hours per week) of
Assistant Childcare Manager
Our Childcare Service aims to provide a creative, caring, stimulating and safe environment with an emphasis on education, development of social skills, encouragement of independence and to provide children with key experiences which will afford them a positive, safe, and enriching childhood.
The person appointed will assist the Childcare Manager with the day-to-day responsibilities including the management and leadership of staff and all aspects associated with the provision of high quality care and education for all children.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Childcare Setting with 2 year’s experience within a Leadership or Management role.
Minimum BA (Ord) in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent.
Candidates with a Minimum Fetac/QQI Level 6 in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent may be considered.
Leadership for INClusion in the Early Years, Level 6, Special Purpose qualification would be highly advantageous.
Excellent people skills, experience in liaising and communicating with Parents & Families in a clear and professional manner.
Experience in the management and leadership of staff, including support and supervision.
Motivated and enthusiastic with excellent administration and IT skills
Experience of calculating childcare fees, cash handling and recording.
Strong knowledge of Government Childcare Schemes and funding strains.
Strong knowledge of all regulations and guidelines and the ability to put same into practice.
Experience in the Community Childcare sector desirable.
Experience in the overseeing & implementing of an emergent child led curriculum programme based on Aistear and Siolta.
Experience of reporting to parents and/or the appropriate authorities regarding child welfare & developmental concerns.
Ability to work on own initiative and to multi-task.
Awareness of relevant Data Protection laws & compliance requirements
Experience of identifying maintenance and health & safety issues and overseeing associated works required within a childcare setting.
