  Museums Victoria is seeking a Assistant Collection Manager, Geology Collection Emergency to join our team. Bring your talent for building relationships and securing transformational gifts to one of Australia’s most exciting cultural institutions.

NOTABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

• Sound knowledge of and experience in Geology disciplinary and collection cataloguing frameworks. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with geological collections is an advantage.
• Sound knowledge and experience of managing and organising collections, especially science collections. Equivalent associated skills and experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated skills and experience in handling museum objects, and especially science collections, including awareness of typical object conservation techniques.
• Sound knowledge of and experience in using electronic collection management databases in museums. Experience with KE EMu and MVWISE is an advantage.
• Well-developed communication skills, both written and interpersonal, and the ability to work autonomously and in teams.
• Sound time-management skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
  Ordinarily occupants of similar positions would hold an appropriate tertiary qualification in Earth Sciences and have extensive knowledge of geology.
