Description:

THE SERVICE & TEAM:

The People Commissioning Service are seeking Assistant Commissioning Officer’s in in both the Older People’s and Working Age Adults teams. The teams are responsible for commissioning good quality, safe and cost-effective services that meet the needs of target populations in Cornwall.
The Assistant Commissioning Officer will work with partners across the Adult Social Care system, including NHS colleagues, operational teams, care providers & service users to support the implementation of the Commissioning Intentions in line with National and Local policy direction.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

The role holder will be expected to work within the people commissioning team to support the work with partner organisations and stakeholders to review and deliver the specific commissioning intentions as identified in the team plan.

This role holder will:

  • Support the effective performance management of key service outcomes and quality measures.
  • Assist in gathering, processing, and analysing provider information.
  • Manage and process purchase orders and payments, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
  • Produce and maintain contract documents and track contract information.
  • Undertake research to inform the development of strategies and service specifications.
  • Facilitate events with service users, stakeholders, and operational staff to co-produce services.
  • Set up contract review meetings and support quality assurance activities.
  • Gather and collate information for annual self-assessments and market engagement activities.
  • Maintain electronic file structures and ensure accuracy and auditability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners, providers, and stakeholders.
