This role requires a specialist in modern JS ecosystems who has experience with "Vibe Coding" — leveraging AI agents to build and deploy complex, high-performance websites and applications. He/She will be responsible for bringing the project’s UI design to life while ensuring peak performance and SEO optimization for the University’s stakeholders. Duties include (a) developing, maintaining and optimising responsive web interfaces using modern HTML, CSS and JavaScript based on approved UI/UX designs and web design systems; (b) building responsive, high-performance web layouts and front-end components using modern frameworks, integrating with headless CMS and backend APIs as required for dynamic content delivery; (c) ensuring performance, security, accessibility (WCAG 2.2) and SEO best practices on web frontend; (d) using AI‑assisted development tools and “Vibe Coding” workflows to enhance productivity, code quality and documentation; (e) integrating AI-related features into websites where required (e.g., semantic search, chatbots); (f) collaborating closely with UI/UX designers to translate design systems and component libraries into production-ready front-end implementations; (g) working with backend and infrastructure colleagues to integrate SSO, security standards and the University’s systems into front-end experiences; (h) providing search engine optimization (SEO) strategies and performance tuning (Core Web Vitals) to enhance digital visibility among the University’s stakeholders; (i) conducting testing, troubleshooting and quality assurance checks to ensure reliability, usability and brand consistency of digital assets; and (j) performing additional duties as assigned. Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline; (ii) at least 3 years’ relevant work experience in front-end web development with a strong portfolio of responsive websites or web applications; (iii) solid experience with modern frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue.js, and proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3; (iv) experience integrating front-end applications with APIs and headless CMS architectures, including REST and GraphQL; (v) mastery of AI-native development environments and workflows; (vi) strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams; and (vii) proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese. Applicants must submit their portfolio and GitHub repository links of relevant work in the online application. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract) commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
