Description
Department of Computer Science and Engineering Assistant Computer Officer As a member of the technical team, the appointee will be responsible for (a) setting up and supporting the Department’s network, IT infrastructure, and systems; (b) administering Linux servers, network equipment, and firewalls; (c) developing and maintaining in-house web applications; (d) providing technical support to staff and students; and (e) performing other tasks as assigned. Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; (ii) hands-on experience in setting up and maintaining network equipment; (iii) experience in web programming and Linux server administration; and (iv) strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Having knowledge of and experience in setting up VPNs or HPC (High-Performance Computing) will be advantageous. Possession of Cisco certifications, such as CCNA or CCNP, is highly desirable. Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
