Description
Department of Computer Science and Engineering Assistant Computer Officer As a member of the technical team, the appointee will be responsible for (a) setting up and supporting the Department’s network, IT infrastructure, and systems; (b) administering Linux servers, network equipment, and firewalls; (c) developing and maintaining in-house web applications; (d) providing technical support to staff and students; and (e) performing other tasks as assigned. Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; (ii) hands-on experience in setting up and maintaining network equipment; (iii) experience in web programming and Linux server administration; and (iv) strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Having knowledge of and experience in setting up VPNs or HPC (High-Performance Computing) will be advantageous. Possession of Cisco certifications, such as CCNA or CCNP, is highly desirable. Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement. Responsibilities
The Assistant Computer Officer will set up and support the Department’s network and IT infrastructure, administer Linux servers, and develop in-house web applications. Additionally, they will provide technical support to staff and students and perform other assigned tasks.
