OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Assistant Controller with experience in manufacturing to support our financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This role plays a key part in accurate financial reporting, audit readiness, policy development, and team leadership within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA designation is preferred
  • 5 years or more of experience in manufacturing industry
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software , preferably Sage 100
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fast learner
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and enhance internal accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls, while improving the efficiency and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Liaise with external auditors and accounting advisors; prepare working papers, reconciliations, lead sheets, and supporting documentation for year-end financial statement preparation.
  • Oversee costing methodology, BOM validation, and variance analysis (labor, material, overhead).
  • Perform inventory valuations, and periodic inventory counts in coordination with production and material teams.
  • Prepare and analyze gross margin reports by product line, identifying trends, cost drivers, and areas for margin improvement.
  • Maintain and improve ME reporting packages (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial data.
  • Lead process improvements and system automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve data integrity across financial workflows (e.g., AP, AR, payroll integration, ERP tools).
