Job Summary: We are seeking an assistant controller to join our highly successful, PE-backed construction company. The ideal candidate will have a background in public accounting, a current CPA certification, and have experience working with or auditing construction companies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on construction companies
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent technical accounting and auditing skills
  • A strong understanding of percentage of completion accounting
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong excel skills to include pivot tables, lookups, and power query
  • Experience in a PE-backed environment is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Vista Viewpoint and HCSS Heavy Job is a plus
  • Master’s degree in accounting is a plus

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including AR, cash management, AP, payroll, and project accounting
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis
  • Collaborate with the CFO to develop financial strategies and plans
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the CFO and other senior leaders
