    We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations under the guidance of our Controller as she transitions into retirement. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in ERP software.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant practical experience. Professional designation definitely an asset.
  • Proven experience in a similar role with a strong grasp of accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with ERP system use and advanced Excel skills. Experience with SAP Business One an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of account reconciliation, budgeting, payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English and French (as we service customers across North America).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diplôme de bachelor en comptabilité ou expérience pratique pertinente. La désignation professionnelle est un atout
  • Expérience confirmée dans un rôle similaire avec une excellente compréhension des principes comptables
  • Maîtrise de l’utilisation des systèmes ERP et compétences avancées en Excel. Expérience avec SAP Business One souhaitée
  • Solide connaissance des processus de réconciliation de comptes, gestion budgétaire, paie, comptes clients et comptes fournisseurs
  • Excellentes compétences analytiques, souci du détail et précision dans la production des rapports financiers
  • Fortes compétences organisationnelles avec la capacité de gérer plusieurs tâches efficacement sous des délais serrés
  • Aptitudes exceptionnelles en communication pour la collaboration avec les membres de l’équipe et les parties prenantes
  • Maîtrise de l’anglais et du français (car nous desservons des clients en Amérique du Nord)
Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable staff.
  • Assemble/prepare monthly financial statements and review/finalize with the Controller for presentation to our VP Finance.
  • Utilize our SAP Business One ERP system to perform required functions.
  • Investigate and correct discrepancies/trends that may impact the organization’s financial health.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes , improve operational efficiency and deal with day-to-day requirements.
  • Perform some HR functions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing financial practices and respond to government requests, issues and filing requirements.
