Role Overview The Assistant Controller provides detail-oriented and analytical support to the Controller and finance team within a fast-paced construction environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing timely reports, and supporting budgeting, cost tracking, and project accounting activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen and a proactive approach to supporting day-to-day finance operations and continuous improvement initiatives. What You’ll Be Doing: Complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including consolidated financial statements Analyze financial results against budgets and forecasts and provide variance insights Support internal and external financial reporting and ad-hoc analysis Assist with annual audit coordination and external auditor requests Maintain compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls Support development and maintenance of financial policies and controls Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and working-capital management Support cash-flow forecasting and financial planning Complete statutory and company filings, including HST, payroll, and bank reporting Identify and drive process improvements to improve accuracy and efficiency Support, mentor, and cross-train finance team members Perform other duties as required What We're Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
