Assistant Controller Department: Accounting FLSA Status: Exempt Minimum Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Job Status: Full Time Reports to: CFO The Assistant Controller will be responsible for completing period end procedures and other duties as outlined below for the Food Giant division of Houchens Food Group, Inc. (HFG). The Assistant Controller will assist and learn from the Controller of Food Giant, and report directly to the CFO. This position will report to the HFG offices in Bowling Green, KY, and will require some travel to Food Giant in Sikeston, MO on a regular basis. Assistant Controller Duties and Responsibilities · Auditing accounts · Assist in producing and distributing profit and loss statements · Create various period end reports · Reconcile bank statements · Reconcile warehouse inventories · Create reports as needed by supervision throughout the period · Research and resolve accounts payable and receivables issues · Assist on various state and local taxes and licenses · Assist field auditors’ researching issues · Other duties as assigned · Limited travel to the Food Giant Sikeston, MO office will be required Assistant Controller Requirements and Qualifications · Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently · Able to build strong interpersonal relationships with peers, brand leaders, and other senior management throughout the company · Encouraging to team and staff · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Able to align multiple strategies and ideas · Confident in producing and presenting work · Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university REQUIRED. · Minimum five years experience in an accounting profession, preferably public accounting. · CPA license preferred · Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) · Excellent analytical and time-management skills Equal Opportunity Employer
