Description Island Hospitality Management is currently seeking an Assistant Controller to lead accounting functions across our property portfolios. This department leader will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Accounting and oversee all accounting policies and procedures within their region. Requirements Job Requirements: Direct and coordinate accounting operational functions Prepare monthly accruals Perform account analysis and reconciliation Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures Coordinate and prepare internal financial statements on a timely basis Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes Coordinate information with external auditors Manage 3rd party owner relationships Maintain financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees Job Qualifications: CPA (active license) and bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college Strong knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Excellent analytical, research, strategic planning, and communication skills Financial Statement preparation experience Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance Team management Strong knowledge of Microsoft products JD Edwards software knowledge is a plus Training: Island Hospitality is committed to employee development and displays that commitment with a formalized training and development program providing a clear path for any employee with a desire and aptitude to thrive in the hospitality business.
