Job Details Job Location: Michigan - Rockford, MI Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 4 Year Degree Salary Range: Undisclosed Travel Percentage: Negligible Job Shift: Day Job Category: Accounting Description Summary Kent Power is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for month end prep and reporting, state compliance, and managing and assisting the accounting team with daily tasks. They will also assist with various family-owned entities as needed. Essential Functions Manage the accounting team members (AP, AR, Staff Accountant) Assist with daily accounting team tasks Prepare and review various financial statements, budgets, and forecasts Perform journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger analysis Assist with audit requests, including annual financial statement audits, payroll audits, bank audits, and sales/use tax audits Credit card reconciliations and reporting Various state compliance requirements Sales and Use Tax Filings Assist other family-owned entities as needed Respond to all internal and external requests in a timely manner Provides exceptional and accurate internal and external customer service Other projects or tasks as needed Qualifications Preferred Education and Experience Associate’s degree or Bachelor's degree Three years of related experience Proven working experience as an Accounting Supervisor/Manager or Assistant Controller
