POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Controller will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, with a focus on the financial statements, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AR), collections, and payroll. This role alongside contracted and employed support ensures timely and accurate processing of transactions, supports month-end close with audit, and partners with leadership to ensure financial integrity and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERTISE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 6–8 years of relevant accounting experience (agency or service industry preferred)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, AP/AR cycles, and monthly close processes
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero) and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

    The pay range for this role is:
    110,000 - 125,000 USD per year(United States
Responsibilities
  • Manage the company month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and schedule building.
  • Oversee customer invoicing and monitor outstanding receivables - implementing effective collection strategies to minimize aged debt.
  • Ensure business compliance to GAAP and ASC standards to properly ensure annual audit readiness.
  • Review and approve payroll entries and reconciliations; coordinate with HR and external payroll providers to ensure accurate processing.
  • Oversee the accounts payables and new vendor approval processes compliant to business internal controls.
  • Create revenue schedules for management and auditors, complying with ASC 606 standards.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports related to receivables, payables, and payroll liabilities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, client services, FP&A, and operations to improve processes, systems, and support business needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit materials and liaise with external auditors as needed.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and automation tools to increase efficiency.
