Description POSITION: Assistant Controller LOCATION: Twin Falls, ID (On-Site) FLSA STATUS: Salary SALARY: $70,000 – $85,000 (DOE) Higley Group is a dynamic portfolio of companies growing through acquisition in the Magic Valley with diversified holdings across trades, manufacturing, automotive, and service industries. We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our accounting team at the company’s headquarters in Twin Falls, Idaho. This position works directly with the controller, CFO and a collaborative team across the different portfolios. The Assistant Controller provides financial information to management by researching, analyzing, and validating accounting data. Job Duties: · Summarize current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports · Cost Accounting projects assigned by the Controller · Manage progress billing and job costing · Respond to inquiries from the Controller and key collaborators regarding financial results, special reporting requests etc. · Play a critical role in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing procedures · Validate financial transactions by auditing documents · Maintain controls for accounting, inventory, accounts receivable, and accounts payable · Review, recommend, and implement process, procedure and policy improvements in conjunction with the Controller · Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information · Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential · Manage a small, but growing team, ensuring daily tasks are completed in an efficient and timely manner · Assist operating partners in various areas of business activities as business needs expand · Identify areas for improvement and offer suggestions to improve the efficiency, productivity, and profitability of the company · Keep up to date on new trends and changes in areas of responsibility · Other duties as assigned Skills: · Ability to work independently with minimal supervision · Self-Starter · Process driven · Sense of urgency & deadline driven · Thrives in fast paced environment · Excellent organizational and time management skills · Collaborative · Communicator · Adapts easily to change · Customer service driven · Detailed-oriented, trustworthy, able to follow directions, shows initiative Required Qualifications: · BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field · 3-5 years of accounting experience · Microsoft Excel proficient Preferred Qualifications: · QuickBooks Online · Multi-Entity Accounting · Intercompany transactions experience · Experience in Trades Accounting · Experience in Acquisitions Physical Setting/Physical Requirements: · In-Office position · Ability to sit for long periods of time Benefits: · 401(k) & company match · Medical insurance · Dental insurance · Vision insurance · PTO · Paid Holidays Applicants must be able to pass a physical, background and drug test.
