Optiver is seeking a strategic accounting professional with a passion for precision, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to oversee our corporate accounting operations and elevate our financial infrastructure. In this hands-on, pivotal role, you’ll own the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of our corporate financial records across both IFRS and US GAAP, champion payroll and expense management, streamline inventory and lease accounting, and drive scalable processes that support a dynamic business. This role reports to the US Controller and works closely with global finance, procurement, and tax teams. Responsibilities

As an Assistant Controller your key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and compliant with IFRS, US GAAP, internal policies, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Review month-end accruals, expense allocations, intercompany activity (including transfer pricing), and various reconciliations.
  • Be responsible for the completeness and accuracy of operating expense data, support FP&A function in management reporting.
  • Oversee lease accounting and maintain the fixed asset ledger
  • Supervise inventory accounting for manufacturing operations, including COGS, WIP, and finished goods valuation
  • Champion continuous improvement projects for efficiency and transparency in corporate accounting processes
  • Oversee the payroll review process, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant payroll tax regulations and labor laws.
  • Approve payroll-related journal entries, accruals, and benefit reconciliations.
  • Oversee payment processes and systems, ensuring security, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Review vendor payments and monitor/manage AP and AR aging.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders—including tax, HR, procurement, banks, and auditors.
  • Support FP&A function with management reporting and financial planning processes.
  • Continuously evaluate, document, and substantiate effectiveness of internal controls.
