Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements and reports.
  • Support the Controller in presenting financial findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Help coordinate regulatory reporting, including federal, state, and excise tax filings.
  • Assist in the consolidation of financial data for accurate business reporting.
  • Support the Controller in managing the general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory accounting principles (SAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Contribute to Corporate Accounting projects and deliverables including banking RFPs and additional subsidiaries as needed
  • Contribute to internal and external audit processes and ensure adherence to internal controls.
  • Help manage departmental resources and contribute to budget planning.
  • Supervise Staff Accountants and Accounts Payable Analyst and support their development.
  • Supervise accounting for PEMCO Insurance Agency and PEMCO Foundation
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and industry trends.
  • Support internal and external audit processes and help ensure a strong internal control environment.
  • Follow up on the annual Model Audit Rule (MAR) attestation process.
  • Recommend and help implement improvements to accounting operations and processes.
  • Demonstrate behaviors aligned with PEMCO’s values and ethics.

The pay range for this role is shown below. Compensation decisions are determined based on an individual’s qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

  • Greater Seattle area target pay range: $181,905-$222,329. The full pay range is $151,587-$252,646.
  • Outside greater Seattle area target pay range: $160,536-$196,210. The full pay range is $133,779-$222,966

Other compensation depending on role, contributions, and performance may include:

  • Discretionary bonuses
  • Tiered sales commissions and/or incentives (from 5-25% of employee’s monthly sales)
