Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our client who is one of the largest automotive manufacturers in North America. This role will support the organization’s financial operations with a focus on accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and performance improvement across manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Controller, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to deliver insights that drive decision-making and operational efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA designation preferred).
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment (must have).
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $100,000.00-$110,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the development of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to monitor performance against financial goals.
  • Manage general ledger activities, including month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Monitor and analyze cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
  • Oversee inventory valuation and cost accounting practices to maintain accuracy and transparency in manufacturing results.
  • Review and reconcile in intercompany transactions and prepare consolidated financial statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Partner with external auditors by providing required documentation and supporting audit activities.
  • Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and strengthen financial governance.
  • Collaborate with operations and other departments to gather and interpret financial data to support business initiatives.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.
  • Deliver ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and business cases to support leadership decision-making.
