We’re seeking an Assistant Controller – Real Estate Accounting to join our growing team. This is a high-visibility role for a motivated accounting professional who wants to go beyond the basics, integrate fintech solutions, and play a direct role in the firm’s financial leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in real estate, property management, investment, or construction.
  • Public accounting experience with real estate clients or a tax focus is a strong plus.
  • Proven ability to manage staff and processes while staying hands-on with journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP and financial technology platforms. Power BI or Fabric experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Solution-oriented, proactive, and intellectually curious with high integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the monthly financial close process across 31 ledgers.
  • Oversee treasury and portfolio cash management.
  • Administer semi-monthly payroll processes and related automated workflows.
  • Supervise AP, AR, and cash transactions while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Property Operations and corporate (CORE) Agile sprint teams to deliver financial insights.
  • Balance day-to-day accounting execution with higher-level process improvement and oversight across a new internal Tribe structure.
  • Drive process improvements using fintech tools for data automation and visualization
