Description:
We are inviting applications for the role of an Assistant Controller in our restaurant management group. The position is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, and includes a combination of in-office and remote work. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for managing accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, among other responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum 4-5+ years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions and reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, invoice booking, and weekly payruns.
- Prepare management accounts, including balance sheets and income statements for each US restaurant entity.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Ensure accurate and timely posting of financial transactions and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with the finance team and other departments to ensure efficient workflow.
- Report daily, weekly, and monthly sales for the US entities and process sales journals and sales reconciliations.
- Maintain complete and accurate fixed asset registers.
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate processing of payroll journals and reporting.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes for North American operations.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controls within the finance function.
