We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Hilliard, Ohio. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in financial management and accounting. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead key processes, collaborate across teams, and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.

• Oversee the month-end close process for assigned properties, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciling general ledgers.
• Review and finalize monthly financial statements and variance analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Enforce internal controls and compliance with company policies to maintain the integrity of financial reporting.
• Manage accounts receivable, cash management functions, and fixed asset schedules, including depreciation and reconciliations.
• Provide support for annual budgeting, reforecasting, and reconciliations related to common area maintenance, real estate taxes, and insurance.
• Collaborate with property management and asset management teams to address and resolve financial inquiries.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition by reviewing lease abstracts and interpreting lease terms.
• Supervise investor accounting processes, including investor setup, distributions, and deal configurations within Yardi software.
• Prepare financial statements for private equity funds and assist with annual fund audits.
• Lead and participate in system implementations, process improvements, and automation projects.
• Proficiency in accounting systems such as Yardi or MRI
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions.
• Expertise in financial reporting, auditing, and variance analysis.
• Experience with fixed asset management, including capitalization and depreciation.
• Familiarity with lease accounting and revenue recognition.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated skill in managing and mentoring accounting staff.
• Experience with system transitions, process automation, and implementing improvements
